The LM700 with MagRod (Magnetic Rod Based Extraction Head) automates the extraction and purification of DNA, proteins, RNA and cells. Because this unique extraction head operates on the LM700’s small profile liquid handler platform, it utilizes the industries easiest and most versatile lab software (Method Manager).  Method Manager controls all of your extraction/purification protocols, and automatically provides you with valuable process data.

The LM700 MagRod automates your manual extraction/purification, increasing yield reproducibility, reducing processing time, eliminating human errors, and reducing processing time.

The LM700 with MagRod head moves beads with your analyte of choice from plate to plate as opposed to moving liquids (via liquid handler), and thus maintaining purity and sample integrity. The MagRod head consists of magnetic rods and utilizes disposable tips for bead collection. The beads are efficiently transferred to successive well plates each with isolation reagents for washing and elution. This highly efficient process captures all of your nucleic acid beads producing higher yields and lower sample loss. Your samples are now ready for ultimate Mass Spec., NGS, digital PCR and qPCR results.

Because the MagRod head is integrates onto the LM700 liquid handler platform, you now have the following advantages in your lab:

• Prepare your extraction/purification process plates on the same instrument using the 24 or 96 tip dispensing heads. The LM700 automatically switches in process between dispensing and MagRod heads in seconds.
• The MagRod process runs on an open liquid handler deck with multiple plate positions, allowing you to have flexibility with your process layout. Because of the extra headroom available between the magnetic heads and the deck, users will increase throughput by utilizing the maximum volume plates for their purification processes. Other dedicated purification instruments have zero configuration flexibility, and a plate height restriction.
